If you’re in the midst of planning your trip to England to hike the Cotswold Way National Trail, I’m here to help! My husband, Chris, and I completed the trail this past May and we wanted to share everything we learned along the way. In some ways, it was harder than we envisioned, and in other ways it was much easier! There’s a lot to think about; from booking your hotels to buying hiking gear to finding food along the way. I’m currently offering a free download of my travel guide, the Cotswold Way in 10 Days so make sure to download it while you can!
This guide includes hotel recommendations, restaurant and food options, gear recommendations, and of course, a few photos from our hike! It also includes recommendations for London, in case you’re heading there first before you start your hike. Oh, and of course there are tips for traveling from London to the starting point of the trail, Chipping Campden. I was definitely nervous about that aspect, wondering if I’d even be able to find the starting point! Don’t worry though, it’s not as bad as you might think!
If you’re not planning on hiking the whole trail, I highly recommend a day tour like this one from London to the Cotswolds, or doing a walking tour with a guide, which you can find here.
I hope this guide helps you with your planning! I just remember how entirely overwhelmed I felt when I first started booking my trip. There’s a LOT to think about, especially if you’re not a seasoned hiker. But the Cotswold Way is a perfect place to start, because it really does offer a lot of amenities that typical long distance hiking does not, such as hotels and bag transport. You can read all about it in the guide below. Happy travels!
