Kodak Gold 200 is my go-to film when I’m traveling because it’s one of the most affordable films out there, but also because of it’s gorgeous color tones and overall warm hue. When I’m traveling, I’m typically photographing architecture, plants, nature and landscapes, which all benefit from having a bit of a warmer aesthetic to them. There’s nothing worse than a cold-toned photo of a flower. I’ve recently been shooting with my Ricoh 500GX and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite travel cameras. I have a full review of this camera here if you’re interested in finding out more about it! It’s perfectly compact but produces stunning photos with it’s f/2.8 lens.
Not too long ago, I hiked the 102-mile Cotswold Way Trail (don’t ask me what the heck I was thinking…) and the Ricoh 500GX was one of the cameras I brought with me. On the last day of our hike, I loaded the camera with Kodak Gold 200 film but wasn’t able to finish the roll before I flew home. The photos below are what I ended up with after finally finishing the roll. A fun combination of travel photos from England, Virginia Beach, Kentucky, North Carolina and various other small moments of my life. I never know what to do with random rolls of film like this, which is why I’m just going to go ahead and share it here!
